seriously though... what happened?

So, I have been thinking... I have seen all three Balto movies, and the only time Balto's fater is ever mentioned is once in Wolf Quest. Balto mentions him to Alue while he is trying to explain to her why she is half wolf and not a full bred husky...

But what actualy happened to Balto's father. We all know he was a husky that fell in love with a wolf, but how did that happen and what happened after?!

Here are some of my theories:

We know from the first movie Balto, was obsessed with sled racing, he always went to every race and loved to watch... this may give us a small clue of who his father was, as they say: like father like son. His father could of very well been a well known sled racer just like Steele, there for purhaps creating the grudge between the two.

Balto falls in love with Jenna, a pure bred husky, there for following once again in his father's foot steps by dating outside his own breed.

Balto does something heroic, he saves Alaska from the fast spreading disease by sending anti-toxin to Nome. This could be following in his father's footsteps as well purhaps? His father may have done something Heroic... but unlike Balto never returned and died trying.

Another theory of mine is his father got killed by Aniu's pack itself. Never does any of the wolves in Wolf Quest mention Balto's father and only his mother... could this be a grudge or form of hate?

And if Balto's father did disapear druing a heroic outing... did he really die? Or did he get lost or run away?

Having said all this...

maybe Universal Studios should make another movie focussing JUST on Balto's father...

There is no real theory, but you can make them up. Universal doesn't care about the Balto films anymore and they never did, except for the first one. Plus they don't have the money right now since they're making Jurassic Park 4.

I think we will never know what happened to him, unless Universal makes another sequel. I also a theory about Balto's father; since he is barely mentioned, he probably simply raped Aniu and left. Anyway, although a Jurassic Park 4 is in the making, it has been in a developing hell for so long that I think it will never make it's way to the theaters.

Interesting point of view and well written article. You could make your thoughts into a fanfiction because I doubt Unversal would consider making any more of Balto movies.

Well, I think we'll never know what happened. It's up to the fans (us) to make up what happes. And who knows? Depending on the writter's skill, we could do better then a movie!

Hey littlesami, mayby your right!! Disney have also made the third film of Lion King where they only focus on Timon and Pumbaa, just before they made their apperance in the first Lion King. Mayby we can see in this flim how his father has reacted when Balto has born, if he was stil alive when Balto was born.

Balto is shrouded in mystery...and you have some pretty good thoeries. :3 But there's still one thing I want to know...how did Balto's mother and father ever even meet? What I mean is, wolves live in the wild, and dogs live in the towns. Knowing how they came together may solve something.

I think Balto's father is actually a darker brown than Balto himself, and Aniu's white fur lightened Balto's fur. Although, that may not be possible due to Aleu, whose fur was further lightened compared to Balto, but that might be Aniu's white fur as well. Good article, though!

You know, Buck the wolf like dog from Jack London's novel "Call of the Wild." I once read this story somewhere where Buck was the father of Balto. Which would make sense, since Buck was a burly sled dog who joined the wild.
