Alot of people might say Aleu looks more wolf than Balto does, but I have found something interesting out:Aleu has more husky blood in her because her mother was a purebred husky and her father was a husky hybrid. It should also be noted is that after the Wolverines vanished, Aniu was sitting there, but she has never shown herself to Aleu (in her wolf form). Also, ALeu appears to be taller than Balto. Interestingly, Aleu's colour goes from tawny brown and white, to wolf brown and grey. Aleu has blue eyes. How is that possible? Aleu, Saba and Yukon (Yukon is the red and white male version of Aleu) shouldn't have blue eyes because neither Balto or Jenna have blue eyes, but maybe one of their ancestors did!

Some people say she has a 'bridge' marking on her nose, but where the heck is it? Like Balto, her ears are a darker brown.

many people are aware that aleu is less of a wolf than balto according to her blood. in the movie, i think they ment that she LOOKED like it, not that I agree with it.

Aleu is what is called a throwback- she displays dormantraits not seen in either parent. Like if a kid's parents both have blue eyes, but one of the grandparents has green, and then the kid has green, that's an exmple of a "throwback" trait.

I agree with dragon tamer, either parent could have been carrying the trait even through it is not expressed in apprence, I think she got a ressesive gene. Mabey she has something called incomplete dominance or codomance both cases where the traits blend?

I agree with Cat Wings and Dragon Tamer. Aleu is only about 25% wolf (correct me if I'm mistaken), so she should be looking more like a husky, like the rest of the pups. But, the animators had to throw us a curveball and make Aleu look more wolf than she really is. And about the blue eyes-huskies usually have green, brown, silver, and blue eyes. (again, correct me if I'm mistaken) Aleu definately got that as a husky trait. Jenna probably had SOMEONE in her family with blue eyes...

This is something about the blue eyes. Maybe Balto or Jennas recesive genes was for blue eyes, and a couple of pups got blue eyes.

This is a very valid point and a mistake the writers of Wolf Quest made. Aleu is a bit lighter color than Balto because Aniu is white but Balto would of been lighter color than his father as well. I think Aniu didn't appear to Aleu because she was quarter wolf, unlike Balto and Nava, wolfdog and pure wolf respectively, whom she did appear to. This may mean Aniu only appears to hybrids and wolves. The blue eyes issue - the red pups got blue eyes through the husky gene. Aleu got hers from a defect - normally wolf pups are born with blue eyes and they change to brown when the wolf matures, but there can be something where the eye color fails to change. Aleu most likely has this. Also, Yukon and Denali are fan characters like Kiona , they're not official. On the bridge marking thing, a bridge marking is when a different color is seen as a stripe on top of the canine's muzzle. It looks like a bridge, so people call it that. A few errors, but otherwise, good article .
