Once I finally got a chance to see Balto 3, I noticed Alue and Dusty look very simmaler. Just look at the images below.

See, what I tell ya. I know there are small differences like...

1. Dusty a husky, and looks more fine groomed, while Alue gives that scruffy wolf look.

2. There colors are slightly different.

3. Dusty's eyes are brown, and Alue's are blue.

I don't see anymore, but let me know if you do. Also this is my first time writing an artical, so please excuse me if I made a mistake, or if it's not good.

Yeah. I never noticed the resemblance until it was mentioned in a fanfic. It seems kinda vague to me. The real resemblance I see is their personalities: both strike me as being on the wild side.

I can see how when people first saw Dusty they thought it was Aleu because EVERY CHARACTER in B3 is shaded differently than in B2 (some also have different markings). Its when they speak do you finally understand they are two different characters XD Unlike Aleu's voice, Dusty's is tolerable to the ear.

Alue's ears are a different color than the rest of her fur. Dusty's are the same color as her base fur color.

I don't know about Aleu's ear. sometimes I saw it dark Grey, sometimes light Grey (upper body color) or even lighter grey than that (lower body color) or even... GREEN!? yeah! I saw Aleu with green ears once!!! I don't really know what color her ears are.

That's probably because she had a home with proper care and regular meals, whereas Aleu was a wild dog. And cat, what do you mean about Dusty's voice. I'll grant that it tended to be sharper in tone, but it never bothered me that much.

Sorry DORCIA, your right. When I looked at an enlarged picture, I did notice that Dusty's eyes are dark blue. But Alue's are light blue, or mabey even a tealish color.

when B3 premired on Cartoon Network and they showed Dusty (I came right in the middle of the film) I said "OMG! IT'S ALEU!" But when I got the DVD I realized it wasn't her I luv Aleu so much

I have noticed before that they look alike but I LOVE Aleu and was not confused when I saw Dusty. I immediatly knew she was a new dog. And for all you her like Aleu I so agree. And as for everyone who hates her or her voice is nuts. I strongly disagree with you.

I personally think they look 100% different. Dusty has a much more muscular build to her, Alue's much more scrawny, and her body is in weird proportions. Dusty's coat is well-groomed and clean, Alue's is scruffy and sticks out in weird places. Dusty's fur colour is SILVEr, Alue's is BROWN. Dusty's underbelly is WHITE, Alue's is LIGHT BROWN. Dusty's eye background is white with a blue iris, Alue's eye background is yellow with green irises. And they have totally different ears, face shapes, tails, body shapes... etc. etc. I think they look absoloutely 100% different, and act it too. How can people think they look alike?!? Seriously

Yeah I noticed this, but also there is a topic on the forums like this BUt yeah I see where you are coming from. There are similarities but I think that the creators just tried to vary the dog color. and also she seems similar to Alue cause she has the same bodyshape, all the other sled doags are males.

Please don't read this if you don't like long posts, I'm just trying to explain a bit Dusty and Aleu don't look similar. The only way they might be mistaken for looking similar is the B2 & B3 female build that was used on them. If you compare B1 Jenna to Dusty and Aleu, you'll notice there is not much similar, but if you compare B2/3 Jenna with the pair, you'll say they look somewhat alike. Aleu is generally more scruffier and wolfish than Dusty, as Dusty is a husky, while Aleu is a husky and Arctic Wolf crossbreed. I'm saying Arctic Wolf because Arctic Wolves are different to Grey Wolves and/or Red Wolves. If you compare Ainu to Dusty and Aleu, you'll probably say they look a bit alike as well, because of the B2/3 female build used. Therefore, no, they don't look alike, it's just the Balto 2 & 3 female build they're animated with, and most likely pretty much the same animators in B3 as in B2.
