Why does Alue have blue eyes?

I was just watching the movie yesterday and I noticed that Alue has blue eyes unlike everyone else in her family. I then re-watched it and noticed that Saba had blue eyes too! Since Saba takes after her mother, I just figured that maybe Jenna's parents had blue eyes. But since Alue is part wolf I still wondered why she had blue eyes because it's a very uncommon thing for a wolf to have blue eyes. But then again, since Balto's dad is a husky then perhaps he had blue eyes and passed that down to his son's children...

Things like this have been brought up often. If you watch closely, Aleu has blue and white eyes as a pup and then suddenly when she gets older has blue and goldish yellow eyes. Balto had the gold and yellow eyes in the first movie, then didn't in Wolf Quest. Back to your point though, many things including eye colors are passed down threw family lines, but are known to skip generations. Since we don't know any of the grandparents of the grandchildren's other then Balto's mother it is likely that one of the others had blue eyes. The animators didn't sped much time, effort, or money on the movie though so it could possibly be a result from that as well.

ppl's eyes and animal's eyes change when they grow up. i had blueish eyes when i was firstborn. now i have brown eyes. good article tho. keep writing and keep up the good work!

I think you are right. My granfathers have blue eyes and so do I but neither of my parents do.

It must be passed down through generations, or it wouldn't make sense. I always like to think reserch helps...

Things like this can be passed from generation to generation. Like take my sister for instance. Nobody in my living family (that I know of) has blue eyes. When my sister was born, she had blue eyes (I'm pretty sure that almost everyone does when they're born). Now she is 4 and she still has blue eyes. Both my parents and I have hazel eyes, and my brother has brown. So it all depends. Anyway, good article!

Yeah, well it's really not uncommon for a Sibe to have blue eyes. Aleu got her eyes from a dog related to Balto or Jenna (probably even both)
