Why does universal insist that Balto isn't worth time and effort?! I loved the first movie, the first move was well animated, had some humor *for all ages* and was a great story that the audiance loved!

As soon as Balto 2 came out things started to slowly plumitt down hill and I will explain how and why. In balto 2 the story is reasonable. Alue is a teenage wolf/dog who is confused about who she is... understandable. The humor in Balto 2... is kinda cheesy, focussing only on small children and not smarter and more intelligent audiences. The animation was just ok. It was not as good as the first but still decent, but there was horribly cheesy sing along things... fun for kids but bleh!

Balto 3 was a terrific story line... but had no good humor except perhaps for only one part in the story. The animation I found to be extreemly dissapionting, the sing along once again... were extreemly bad no effence... but it true.

Now for my Lion King evaluation:

Lionking: great animation, a story line that is simple but kicks butt, and... the sing alongs were actualy funny *for all ages* tasteful and cute!The humor *for all ages* and good. The fight scene LOOOOVE <3

Lion King 2:Animation is still in its prime (wow) story line adorable and good. Fight scene still kicks butt, humor * milds but still tasteful*. Sing alongs... on the border line of cheesy and cute.

Lion King 1/2: HILARIOUS!!! Animation still at its prime, mmmm not many fight scenes XD but the humor makes up for that.

now... first off ^^ I wasn't able to find a good Balto one picture to compare to the original lion king, but the first Balto movie had very very good animation...

Also for those of you who say that I can't compare Universal to Disney... in ways I can't in ways a I can. For instance Disney is big but Universal has made many good quality , movies, and has just as good animation as disney. If universal really did try... Balto could've been really popular *sighs*

Balto 2 also reached out towards parents as it taught them to let go of their kids when they grow up and they put songs in because they saw how much money the Land before time sequels made. $$$$.

good article. I also agree the animation was great in the first Balto. The songs in the 2nd and 3rd got out of hand... kinda turned a true story into something that wasn't that big of a deal, though we all know Balto was a true hero and not just a pretty face like he was in the other 2 movies. No offense to anyone here who liked the other two more than the first. But I liked your article! Very nice!

i think they changed the voice of Balto because he was getting older. Like in Balto 3, he sounds like an old man almost! at least those are my thoughts.

i totally agree. I disliked the songs in Balto 3. They sucked, and Balto 1 was the best. I wish they'd make another one with characters from the first, like Nikki, Kaltag, and Star and maybe they could say what happened to them and Steele.
