Okay so we know that Balto's father is or was a husky but...has anyone ever listened to the way he said it?:





Balto: 'I'm the one who's part wolf.'

Aleu: 'How could this happen?'

Balto: 'Look, Aleu. My dad was a husky who had pups with a wolf.'





Emphasis on the WAS......So Balto knows that his father is in fact dead....for he 'was'...



Maybe it's just a miscommunication....but



What are your thoughts? No insults please....

Yeah, maybe you're right on this one, I never really paid that much attention to any of the sequels so I wouldn't have ever noticed it that clearly. But I do agree with you on this one. Good article.

He probably died of natural causes, huskies only live to about 8-10 years depending on climate. Balto is around 6 years old in Balto 3 since his eyebrows are very big and his own offspring are fully grown.

nice observation.but you never know, that was the first thing we ever knew about balto's dad, and we never even seen what he looks like....he wasn't in any movies....if they make the balto 4 it might have balto find his dad......

Balto's dad is dead. But he didn't realy seam mad about it. Maybe he was like Steele mean and evil. Also Balto in the first movie didn't like what Steele did. "I have a message for your'e mom. HHHOOOWWWWLLLLL!" I think Balto was closer to his mom than his father for one reason. We all know that ?Balto had younger siblings righ? Well maybe his father killed one of his siblings. Anui probably killed him. So I think that is how Balto's Father Died.

I don't really think Balto's father is dead, but he just uses past tense since he was probably separated from him as well.

It´s a very good article, it´s good that tou take care about every word in the movie, but well we can only try to guess what is the true history of Balto´s family, with out the Balto 4 movie, i mean, everybody wants to know if he has some brothers..........

there is no real evidence in the film that saggests balto s father is dead maybe baltos father abandoned baltos mother and him.and was never seen again and because baltos father was a husky maybe aniu decided that she wanted her pups to grow up soemwhere else.also aniu must have had more than 1 puppy in just 1 litter.it a mystery oR MAYBE balto got lost when he was a young pup.

Is it true Balto's father's name was Buck? I herd somewhere that the dog Buck from The Call of the Wild was Balto's father.

I was reading through the comments when I see Goust wolf's comment. Buck. The first thing I thought was, Buck... The Call of the Wild! I continued reading, seeing if anyone knew this....thank you Funky! Glad someone said it! It is possible that Buck was his father. The Writters of Balto 1-3 may have chosen Buck for his father. But one thing is wrong with that statement. I've read the call of the wild, by Jack London. Doesn't it state that Buck is a St. Bernard? Buck was called to the wild, were his life called. His pups were then half wolf..... but, Buck had no coloration close to Balto's. Even with the possibillties that his mate was Aniu. It might be possible, if the writters who chose this haden't read the book.....Cause if you look at the facts, Buck couldn't have been his father. Buck could have been the name, but it could not have been Jack London's Buck. Wow that was alot of writting.

He maybe dead, he maybe not. I kinda agree with Cobalt, he might have just said past tense because he dosn't see his dad or for any other reason. I also think they should make another movie featuring his dad and maybe siblings, but good article!
