I don't think Nikkie is a Akita, they don't look fuffy enough. Also Akita's have pink touge's with black lips. Nikki has a blue touge. Chow Chows were origonally bred for hurding,hunting,guarding and even helping pull sleds. I'm not trying to be mean but, you should do alittle more research on dog breeds. Sorry, I'm just protective of the Chow Chow breed because I own one.

Dixie is not a pom, she is not the color, fur texture, and accually, she looks nothing like a pom. And Dipsy is no cocker Spaniel because her Cokers ears are furry and their lips dont lag as much

Steele is not a Alaskan husky or Alaskan malamute. He is a Siberian Husky. Nikki is a chow chow, and I know. I lived with chow chows ever since I was born, and I know alot about chow chows. Nikki has a curled tail, very fluffy, medium sized, squashed face, small ears, purple tounge like the chow chow. And dixie isn't a pomeraian. She's this other breed but I forgot the name.. They have the same tail as her, too. Nice article, however.

Accually Steele is ment to be an alasken malamute trust me on the breeds i'm a breed expert on 140 and dixie is to big to be a chihuha she's a pom and chows ARE snow dogs and CAN pull sleds^^ oh and alasken huskys are smallest of huskys^^

Ok 1) there's NO SUCH THING as an "Akita Inu" it's either an "Akita", or a "Shiba Inu." Nikki is not either one cuz he's too small and puffy to be an Akita, and he's too big and puffy to be a Shiba Inu. YES he is a Chow chow. They HAVE been used to pull sleds. I looked it up, and i quote: "Over history, the chow has been used to hunt wolves, sable and pheasant, and to pull sleds." So there. Another thing, why would the animators make Steele a mix? He IS A Malamute because he WAY too big to be a husky, or even a mix of a husky. Mal's CAN have blue eyes. There's also no such thing as a "Giant Alaskan Malamute" And Mel is much to small to be an airidale terrier.

Hhmm, very nice, but I'm just a bit wary of Mel being an Airedale terrier. I have an Airedale terrier myself, and Mel doesn't look like one at all. Though, I may just be wrong, but methinks that Mel might be a different terrier. Ah well, good work on the article!

I agree with Dorcia,dixie is a long-coated chihuahua my cousin has one and it's plurpluish brown,like dixie,kaltag a chinook,but for me kyrby is an akita

Ok, if Nikki was an Akita, he would have been HUGE! Noticably bigger than any of the other dogs, but, as you can see, Steele is the biggest. (Or maybe Doc is the biggest)

Good god! Dixie is too big to be a chihuahua. I've looked over an entire list of toy dogs, and the one most similar to her is the Pomeranian. So I'm pretty sure that that's what she is. There is a possibility that Kaltag is a Chinook, but I think he's a Husky because Chinooks are rare, and he looks a lot like a Husky. Nikki is a Chow Chow because they DO pulls sleds because they are very strong, and if he wasn an Akita, he would be WAY bigger. He'd be even bigger than Steele, and he is obviously smaller. Also, there is no such thing as a "Giant Malamute," but there is such thing as a "Wooly coated Malamute," which is probably what Ralph and Kirby are. The wooly coat is a recesive gene, so there aren't as many of those as regular Mals. Lastly, Mel is WAY too small to be an Airedale Terrier. Those dogs are rather large. Much larger than Basset Hounds like Dipsy, and he's pretty much the same size as her.

Shadow - Actually, Akita Inu is the full name for the Akita. Inu means dog, though, so most people call the two breeds the "Shiba" and the "Akita". Nice article, though. You've found some nice pics that match the dogs well, and though I don't agree with some of them, what you say makes sense.

Woah there! Dixie is most certainly not a Poodle, nor a Shih Tzu! :o :o Pomeranian (maybe mixed with a little Long-haired Chihuahua) is satisfactory for her. (There is no way she is just a Chihuahua, but blended with Pom it could be her.) Cocker spaniel/Basset hound suffices for Dipsy.

personally, i don't think dixie is a chihuahua because i own one and they don't look like that, but i LOVE the rest. great job!
