I think that Nava might be Balto's kin. If you take a look at this picture:

They have the same face markings

If Nava was younger, his fur might be less gray, and close to Balto's

They both have the same body stucture

Their ears are both shaded darker than their bodies

He couldn't be Balto's father, because Nava's a wolf, not dog. So he could be his uncle or something. Although I don't hink Nava's his brother, as Nava is clearly older than Balto. What do you think?

Wonderful evidence. If you failed to notice that all the other wolves had Balto's markings too. And if you failed to notice that Sumac had darker ears (in some clips). And if you failed to notice that all the wolves were built the same. Hm. Waitaminute. Maybe they're ALL related to Balto!

Who really knows? And like Cat said, a lot of the wolves have balto's facial markings. I think that was to show Balto's wolf side in the movie. Good idea, though

the main reason why he looks like Balto is because of the lazy animators are too lazy to be creative. buttt, it's possible. althought that's not the animators' intension.

This theory has already been explored, but I think it's worth addressing again. Nava is probably no direct relative of Balto, since the similarities are, as cat pointed out, generally common to wolves in general. However, it would make a rather interesting story if they were somehow related- as uncle and nephew, for example, like you suggested. I doubt Nava is Aniu's brother, given how he spoke of her, but in light of various factors it is still, as Ms. Frizzle would say, "A speculation worth consideration."

The facial markings on Nava look like Balto's because the animators were too lazy to create a new design in case you haven't noticed ALL of the wolves have the same markings as Balto because of the stupid lazy animators.

i dont think balto and nava are related at all because so what if they look alike plus navas to old to be baltos brother or anything and if it sed that baltos father was a huskie then he was a huskie and nava couldent be baltos grandfather because if he was then hed b akot older than it shows in the movie and if baltos mothers dead wouldent you think his grandfather would be too

It's unlikely, but a wonderful theory. But as was said previously, all the wolves look like Balto; this reason is Balto is--of course--part wolf. If you notice, too, all the huskies sort of resemble Balto. My guess is Universal simply modeled the wolves--all of them--after the wolf side of Balto.
