What could explain where the magic from Balto 2 comes from...

For the Inuits, before becoming a man, the young people had to face a succession of 'tests', for example : staying alone for a certain amount of time for descovering who they are, and who is their 'spiritual guide'. Which is the animal who would guide them, and would alert them of a great event which is bound to happen.
This guide wasn't visible from his owner. At the entrance of every village, we could find a totem which represents the most often 6 animals, the same as in Balto 2 : the wolf, the fox, the raven, the caribou, the wolverine and the bear. 6 magical animals, a totem protection against the bad spirits, powerful.

The Inuits legends are essentially made of magic and spirit which could create illusions among the youngest, by means of hearing about them, and the loneliness or fear often bring hallucinations. And these illusions could become collective if they were powerful.

Aleu is a young 'wolf', which does not know who she is and leave, searching for her identity. There, she will meet Muru, her spiritual guide. The presence of magic in Balto 2 could be explained by this : Aleu is lost, so she imagines strange phenomenons which are related to magic. And Balto, who is afraid for his daughter, could be the victim of the sames illusions so powerful given by Aleu. And the dreams, so precious for the Inuits, could not be left. The ravens are the messengers of dreams...And the raven who sees Balto could be his spiritual guide...The other possibility for the magic in Balto 2 could simply be the fact that the children like more and more the magic and surnatural.
Each of you should see what suits you best, or imagine other explanations...

I don't think there should have been magic in B2.It seems like all the movies com from a diffrent series.Let's say you watched B1,B2,and B3 for the first time but didn't know there.You might not be able tomake a connection.:!

That's what I thought as well Wolf.250 I too thought the ending to Balto II was horrible, it told you absolutly nothing, and got rid of a very likable well made character. If you want to see what I think happened after Wolf Quest, read my FanFic entitled "Balto: Who She Is" I REALLY like Aleu.

Actually, I liked the idea of magic in Balto two it was different. And changed the story of Balto to another point of view. Even though it might have been a little strange and the animation wasn't that well done I enjoyed the movie.

It was great to actually see something you've heard of in Alaskan folklore in Balto. Spirit guides, wolf shamans, and prophecies...Sweet! Who knows? Maybe it'll work its way back into Balto 4. They should have Aleu come back, only this time she'd have powers like Nava had, and she'd make an entrance like Luke did in Return of the Jedi!:P Maybe Kodi and Balto's other kids have powers, but they're not strong like Aleu what with her being a wolf and all. If I had a spirit guide, it would be a wolf hands down, 'cause I know in the next life I will be a wolf!

You guys are supposed to post comments on the article, not on spirit guides! I think the sequel stank. It's so far from the origenal, I mean, the only thing that was even slightly magical in the first was the white wolf. In B2, everything was almost the opposite. I wish there could be a rewrite!:mad:

ok if we are on the subject of magic and spirit stuff.you can't chose your spirit guide and your lucky if you ever truly get to meet it. The raven is a spirit guide but it isn't common. In genneral the raven is a guide for those of us who lose are way. In many cultures the raven is seen as the gurdian of the spirit and mainly the one who caries the spirit to heaven when you die. It is a supernatural gate gurdian.

Steet is right about the magic. It would be awesome to see the spirits and have help from them. Alue was just like any of us trying to find out who we are and what were meant for. The spirits helped her and I would love to have thier help. I don't see how anyone can't see the magic but they see what they want to see. I totally agree with Steet.
