Balto - Analysis

How is Meerkat Manot related to Wings of Change?

Balto's_Girl :

I'm a fan of Animal Planet's 'Meerkat Manor' television series. It's about a group of meerkats in the Kalahari named the Whiskers family. If you're a fan, you've probably noticed the following:

Sean Astin, the voice of Kodi in Balto III-Wings of Change, is the narrator of the American version of Meerkat Manor.

I have the first two seasons of Meerkat Manor on DVD and I was watching them today, when it suddenly registered : the credits said, 'Narrated by Sean Astin'. I was like, 'Wow!'.

Please comment. I'd really like to hear from other Meerkat Manor fans.

I know, I know, this is a short article, but I just had to point this out!!!

How in the world does just having Sean Astin narrating the series Meerkat Manor relate it to Balto 3?

No. Not at all. There is no relation other than that the actor was involved with both. (How is it that this article got approved??)

Well, I don't really think that they're related that much, but I'm not a huge Meerkat Manor fan, so I guess I shouldn't be talking.

I was in total shock, when i saw that.

I don't know why you all are getting so huffy about it... it's just a different article. Jersycaptain, wherever I post , be it the forum or here, you somehow find me and critisize me.

i love MEERKAT MANOR! *faints* yea i saw that sean also i think has done some animes too- my sister recognized that!

Saphire, I do not criticize YOU, I sometimes (not "wherever") criticize WHAT you post. If you posted something very intellectual or fascinating, rest assured I'd be just as quick to compliment it. But this...this was just silly. And there's no way around that. And I called it like I saw it.

A note: you won't survive long on the internet, much less in life, if you take everything personally.

--> Jerseycaptain: Alright. I get it.... I won't post "useless" stuff.... ( or what you call useless) and I DON'T take everything personally... not at all. But it's just.... *thinks* HOW you say things that sets me off. I have no intention of get anyone upset or start these petty arguments of ours..... but I just am offended and feel the need to say something. Belive me, I think we could make good friends, considering all our similarites( by the way, your baltostruestory site is really amazing-- I was suprised when I found out that you were the founder of it...^^), but it's just the wrong time and place I guess.... as the saying goes..... that we meet up. And the things we say....

But, again I'll say it, belive me, I don't take everything personallly.... it's just what you see of me..... I am considered by my close friends and family members (not to metion teachers) to be "intullectual" and smart. I'm in gifted classes and am considered mature for my age... ( heh. heh. the thing about the Earth Day post.. yeah, I was having a bad day.)

So, I ask with sincerety that we forgive each other. I really do admire your following the rules and making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. *smile*

Thanks for reading... or rather listening or even putting up with.... me.

That works for me, Saphire. Clean slate, fresh start.

As I said in the reply to the PM you sent me, which contained this post, the "way" I say things is simply blunt, and to the point. I think it serves the site better than beating around the bush, or even a disservice to compliment something which perhaps should not be. Too many things are approved by mods which shouldn't be, which lack quantity, quality and thought. That wastes bandwidth.

Shakespeare and Mozart are my favorites. They'll always be in my heart.... Shakey and Mozzie were true heroes.

Yeah, I've known this for a while. And I have watched both at least once.

I really suprised I didn't notice.... stupid me for not noticing.....

Finally another Meerkat Manor fan!!! (It's kinda weird we're talking about it on Baltosource) but I love Mitch, and that totally heroic meerkat Shakespere! Did you watch Meerkat Manor: The Story Begins... cause it totally rocks out

Actually the narrator depends on where you are... the Australian version has Mike Goldman, US has Sean Astin etc

what!?I have all the seasons that are out right now and none of them really relate to balto 3 just because the voice of kodi is there

   Balto_courage, June 03, 2008 at 20: 07

I used to be aobssesed with Meerkat Manor, but when Flower died, I wouldn't watch it AS often, but then when my favorite of all time, Mozart died, I just cried and stopped watching it all together. And yes I know thats being emmotional, but who wouldn't be after their favorite meerkat died? And its not like if Balto died, cuz if he did I would probably still be sad, but I would at least know it didn't happen like that for real, but Meerkat Manor WAS real, so...
p.s. sorry if this was a tiny bit toooo long!

Jerse, I don't think you have any right to say "You won't survive long on the internet, much less in life, if you take everything personally." And I think if you don't like how someone does something just DON'T comment then, it can hurt someones feelings, if you don't mind... Just seeing you say that makes me feel bad for Saph (Though I do think thats cool that its Kodi :O Nice article.) All I gotta say.

And you needn't have said it at ALL, Dancing...because she and I worked it out ourselves. Butting in like that, after it was resolved, was utterly pointless and wasteful. Did you really have to get your two cents in that bad? Of course, what else should I expect? I see it more than enough on Balto Source and Animation Source.

Yes, Meerkat Manor is a cool series but it doesn't really have anything to do with Balto.

   WolfWhisperer, June 06, 2008 at 08: 34

Just because it has something to do with a person in balto doesn't mean their related

   Dancing Shadows, June 07, 2008 at 02: 00

I'm glade you got that fixed up, to be truthful, but I still I don't agree at all. Thus I think you see wrong, I'm not a little ignorant brat who bugs people on the internet. I'm smarter then that and don't even really come here at all and when I do, I'm just looking out for trouble to stop. All in all, I'm still happy to hear you worked it out and I'm no longer gunna check this, because its really boiling my blood. I should shut up now, byeh.

So it's like Kodi's talking. That's neat

   jerseycaptain, June 10, 2008 at 15: 01

Sort of...his voice is a bit more natural this time...he's not playing a character, but rather merely narrating.

   Zorro the Coyote, June 11, 2008 at 07: 10

It's like saying Balto is related to "Lord of the Rings" which Astin also stars in but the two films are nothing alike.
