Info about the two wolves

To me, the white wolf who appeared to Balto, was just a symbolism for Balto's wolf heiritage.

In the second movie, all I know is that she was Balto's mother.

t think the did oridgonly intend it to show the spirit of the wolf then when the thought of making a squegel they used it to become balto's mother so in conclusion i think they now intend the ww from b1 to be thought as it is balto's mum they only reason the wolves look slightly different is because the animators werent as well..good

I definitely think Aniu is not the white wolf in Balto. I think that wolf is a male. I'm not sure if it's a spirit or not... the way it seems to just appear out of nowhere and then disappear but still leave footprints. I don't know... maybe the wolf in balto 1 is Aniu's relative: brother, father, or something. Maybe it was just a wolf. But I definitely think it was not Baltos mother, Aniu in the first movie. In agreement with *kapu*'s statement, I don't believe the white wolf in the first movie was Balto's mother either. It was just too darn big to be a female! I'm going to 'stick by my guns' and say that the wolf in the first film was either a spirit guide, or a lone male wolf that happened to be in the right place, at the right time.
