A Balto story in a| steet, March 31, 2006 at 17: 31 | ||

Yes, he does this. Probably because he's too kind, even with a stick lol |
| CatWhoHas14Tails, March 31, 2006 at 17: 39 | ||

Haha I agree with steet. lol *thinks* Maybe him putting it back in the ground is his way of saying "Thank you for saving our lives, little stick. Now go and have another chance at life!" *laughs at self* |

Maybe he put it back in favour and so it could grow bigger i don;t know really. |

I don't know. Maybe he didn't want to break it, so that the team wouldn't fall if they lost their footing when the stick broke. |
| Kodiwolf-BF-RMW, March 31, 2006 at 22: 43 | ||
I don't think he put it back. I think he looked at it, placed his paw, then replaced it, to get a better grip on it. He may have been pushing on it, so that he could stand on it a bit better. |

Well...that stick must've been planted by an angel or something 'cause it couldn't possibly been strong enough to hold the team! |
| Aljan, April 01, 2006 at 21: 13 | ||
I pondered that as well. I believe he was trying to get better footing before pulling the sled team to safety. |
| Balto678, April 02, 2006 at 07: 24 | ||
I always thought that he was just grateful for the stick, having saved their lives, so the least he could do for it was replant it. |
| Drawolf, April 02, 2006 at 08: 10 | ||
I'm with both cat and Kodiwolf. I think Balto do both things. I take a better grip. and in the same time he replant the stick.:) |
| Balto, April 02, 2006 at 15: 07 | ||
maybe he stood it back up incase the other dogs needed a lift. |
| Balto, April 02, 2006 at 15: 08 | ||

(I'm not good with words sometimes) umm,well,you know.so they could get a better grip. |

| Ratt(Lobo), April 03, 2006 at 04: 04 | ||

Yeah, maybe he replanted it so it would grow in the spring. I watched Balto today and thought maybe he replanted it incase the sled slips again so the other dogs can grab it and replant it. Yeah, and maybe an angel was supposed to plant the stick so there lives and dozens more would be saved! |

I've thought about that before and I think it's possible that it was either out of the kindness of his heart or to get his footing. I also noticed, though that later on, as the team pulls itself up, some of the team is shown passing that stick, almost like a marker. It gave me the impression of being a hopeful little sign that they were making progress. Just a thought. |

Maybe he put it there in case someone else later falls into the same predicament! HE would be saving their lives just by putting something back where they found it. If I were in his place I would be thinking of that very thing. Just a thought. |

Well I'd have to disagree, I always thought that Balto looked at his paw-print in the snow, for reassurence, he looks at his paw-print before he howls to the whitewolf and I thought he looked at it again to remind himself that he's part wolf and strong enough to pull the team back up the hill, at least that's what I think. |

I'm with Cat and Kodiwolf, they are both great reasonable answers |
well..he could've pushed it back in in case any of the other dogs needed it to drag himself up...but other than that it was probably out of kindness towards nature....:closedgrin: |

I think he pushed it back into the ground incase he needed to use it again if the team slipped. |
You guys oughta get a kick out of this one. Not long after I first saw the movie, I was n my bed (top bunk) and started to slip off. I couldn't reach the far side of the matress, and that scene from the movie popped into my head. So like the dummy I am I grabbed the sheet with my teeth and ripped my favorite bedsheet.
maybe if they start to fall again they can grab it?
I don't know... somebody's taken my ideas!
I thought he did it so the team could also grab the stick and it'd have a better chance at not breaking. Good Article! |
He pushes the stick back in for the rest of the teem incase they nedded somting if the slipped |
That's a good thing to think about. Hmm... maybe hid it so that the other dogs could have something to grip on when they came up behind him... or maybe he's just too kind for his own good. Either way, it was probably put into the plot design so to emphasize that no matter what is going on, Balto always has the interests of another at heart. |

Maybe Balto's gone "Green!" |

Well he puts it back because Balto is a kind guy who wouldn't overlook anything, it's just not hus personality to pull a small sapling tree out of the ground and not put it back so that it can grow into a large tree ^^ |

Although I kinda find it funny that a small stick can hold the weight of the entire team and sled with musher and medicine on it |
So...other..people can can use it? ....maybe? *runs*
