I never noticed that in the movie. |

I agree with what nintendog/warriorcat said about kids not caring about numbers, but I think the implication that the article wasn't interesting is a bit harsh. |

There are different types of teams that require more dogs. If I'm not mistaken, there were seven in the first movie. |

oh well |

lazy animators i think... |

I've noticed that numorous times! And actually, modern teams have an average of 12 or 16 dogs. I guess the animators didn't want to take the time to create more dogs. |

In real life, a team can have any size of team. So artisticallly is right. |

jennawolf is right. A team can have any size of a team. |
It's a MAIL team. Not race... |
Yeah. I see what you're sayin, but I geuss there can be any size team for whatever the cause. I hope you understand what I mean. Otherwise, good article! |

Thats true nice artical

actually there were 7 on bslto's team (including him) and as the the correct number of 8...well idk... |
Actually, in real life there can be a lot more than 8 and as little as 3. The real sled team would have had more yes, but I guess 6 is easier to draw when animating

There's seven in Steele/Balto's team, four in the mail team doing the mail and five when Balto races with the team. In B1, there was seven because there was a blizzard and they were transporting the serum from Nenana to Nome, which is a very long and tiring run. In B3, the mail team makes runs from Nome to White Mountain and back, which isn't actually that much of a distance compared to Nome - Nenana. So, to answer you question that should really be in the questions section, there's a different amount of dogs on the team depending on the run they're doing. |

I think it was becouse Kodi's team was just running the mail. But balto's team was running a race. So more dogs, the faster they go.

Maybe to many charectars were too much. But it's a cartoon it dosent have to be realistic.
well maybe there being six and not eight makes steele/balto seem stronger since they have to put in more work. |
the people probably were lazy and didn't think about that |
i do agree with Dragon Tamer and nitendog/warriorcat, it's just a movie for kids. also, in some teams aren't there 7? |
wow, I never noticed that! Nice artical.
Thats because the animators are lazy. |
well lets see....u HAVE to have 12-16 dogs and you usually finish with 5 or more |
Yeah, I know, and although it's hard to step into the animator's shoes, each extra dog is a TON of extra work for them. Anyone agree? |
yeah, i'm with Juneau. an extra dog is more work. but they're still lazy. and in real life, there are up to sixteen dogs on a team. two leaders, two swing (right behind them) usually four team dogs (in the middle) and two wheel dogs to help turn the sled in the back.
