In Wolf Quest, Balto had dreams that he was running on ice, chased by a Raven, and falling into a black abyss. In reality (unless you don't belive in this stuff) these are what the dreams meant, in real life:
On Ice: To dream that you are walking/running on ice, means that Balto was taking risks that he shouldn't be taking.
Falling- To dream this indicates a lack of control, insecurity, and/or lack of support in your waking life. Does this have anything to do with Aleu?
The Raven- To see a raven in your dream, symbolizes betrayal, disharmony, misfortune, and death. Betrayal, maybe because of Niju, disharmony, maybe because of the famine, misfortune, because of Aleu not getting her home in the first place, but what about death?
So, there you have it: if Balto was real and had these dreams, they could mean things like this. But we all know he dreamed about the Raven because it was his mom.

I must say, you have managed to do some dream research on your own too! (I wrote a lengthy one on the subject, except I think I described all of the visions he and Aleu saw) I'm glad to know that there are others here that believe Balto's dreams throughout the film (mainly the two in the beginning) merely foreshadow what is to come in his life: Aleu being different and slipping out of his control, their confrontation with Niju and the wolves, and the fact that he was not meant to complete the wolves' journey - Aleu was. It was a short article, but I thought it was to the point and rather nice. Great job. - Juuchan17 |

Intresting, but most places were you can get dream info (such as books and websites) wil all say different meanings, for example, i once read about wolves symbolising evil and if ou chase them off from bad things good things will come, but In another book it was totally different saying they symbolized an easy path or sumthing. either way the bit about the ice and falling seem plausable-its really the raven part I was focusing on, good article though, nice to see someone doing reasearch |
