Dusty supposedly is related to Jenna and Balto

Many people keep saying how Dusty looks like Aleu and had many wolf qualitys,well i have been looking up about it for a couple of days now and i have found something very interesting out.
According to one of the websites interviewing the cast of Balto,Dusty is Jenna or Balto's long lost sister.It said 'Dusty is very much like Aleu and this is because Aleu has her fathers genes and Balto is related to Dusty'I find this very interesting as Dusty is supposed to be just one of the sled dogs,but there may be a little bit of Balto's past in that.

Sure, they can, Aleu. The animators were just lazy and couldn't think up a better design (nor purpose, according to this article) for Dusty. There's not a snowball's chance in heck that Dusty is related to Balto OR Jenna. 1) Because she's MUCH too young, 2) Neither Balto nor Jenna associated with her that much, if at all during the movie. I think Dusty was just a simple member of the sled team who associated with Kodi, and that so the producers were not being sexist, they made her a girl and she happened to look like Aleu because the animators were lazy and not creative. °x° Seems pretty logical if ya ask me. Thanks for pointing that out, tho. Who KNOWS what these interview-ees were thinking?lol

Umm, no? I don't think that's right, but it sounds like nothing more than a guess. IMO, Dusty is a sled dog. A husky, nonetheless. A bit smaller than other dogs, but still a husky. Heck, anything's possible, but I doubt that she's related to a wolf (it's more likely that she's related to any character really.). To tell the truth, not many of the other characters' backgrounds are known, so it's up in the air, I guess.

I got the feeling that I was hated on my articles, but I wasn't, and your not either! I think you have a good point, and this is a great article. I thought Dusty looked to Alue and Balto like, she looks just like one of the wolves in balto 2! It all comes back to the animators not putting enough work in character design. But I would say it was a slim chance that Dusty was related to Balto or Jenna, but who knows for sure?

Not just anyone could just look at Dusty and Aleu and say they weren't the SAME, much less say they were related, because the style of drawing and coloring the characters has changed a great deal in between movies. I'm sure there isn't one person who first seen a picture of Dusty and didn't think it was Aleu. And this article isn't pointless, the person is stating something that SOMEONE ELSE said. No big deal. People should be fine with articles like these as long as it ACTUALLY HAS something to say. I still don't agree with what the person said (NOT the writer of the article) and there is no way that Dusty is related to Balto in any way, like what I said in my comment above.

Ok, Winndixie, I gave my proof, you're just in denial about the situation. If anybody thought Dusty was Aleu, it's normal, because they looked the same. So what if their coats were a different color? Every character's color changed in every single movie. Balto's color changed a great deal, he definately looked more purple than he did in the second movie. So anybody just LOOKING at Dusty would assume she was Aleu. The people providing the info about Dusty being related to Balto is of course not true, UNLESS they thought she was Aleu, which is a common misconception (oh and BTW both Dusty and Aleu's eyes are blue). The color changes and associating the looks of something to something similar is a very basic way of human thinking. So if you think you're all high and mighty, it'd be very wise to keep it to yourself. °x°

Upon seeing only screenshots and not having yet seen the movie itself, I had at first assumed that Dusty was Aleu. Markings? Colors? I'd only assume that the artists weren't following the previous model with great dedication. For all I had known then they could have ignored the story of Balto 2 altogether. I dont think so.:/: I mean when Jenna had her pups only one was different and that was Aleu. Sa it cant be Dusty, after all Dusty ears are shorter and she has a darker shade of brown. And Balto doesnt look nothing like Dusty. Aleu she has stockings and Dusty has socks, thats the only thing Dusty and Balto have in common, socks. Dusty looks like a husky and Aleu looks like a wolf.

If you go to there, then look in the right menu bar and it will say character adoptions and Wolf quest adoptions. I don't know if it will work, but give it a try, I'll keep looking for others, just in case that one doesn't work. :closedgrin:

No way, man, Dusty's waaay too young for her to be related. I'll guess she is about 1 1/2 to 2 years old in this movie, while Balto is 5(?) and Jenna is 4(?), but I'm not entirely sure about these figures...

They can't be broher and sister. Dusty is the same age as Kodi, and Balto really isn't. Mabey the animators liked Alue alot, and wanted to put part of her in the movie. But secretally. They sort of have the same attiude, so that could be the reason.

I agree with BEAST. I'm a big fan of Kodi&Dusty stories, so I really hope she's not related to Balto or Jenna. I don't think she could be Balto's sister anyway, since she'd be a lot older (remember, Aniu's a ghost, so there's no way Balto's got a little sister). I'm guessing the "wolf traits" mentioned concerns her paws, but if you'll notice, almost all the dogs in those movies have big paws, except for Jenna and her friends from the first movie (small paws for a feminine look, obviously). It's just that Balto's the only case where it's pointed out. What's more, Dusty's paws are a lot smaller than most of the other mail dogs' paws. They just look bigger because her legs are really narrow just above them.

Come to think of it, why do two characters have to be related just because they look alike? I once saw a guy in a magazine who everyone swore looked exactly like me aside from the fact that he had a mowhawk. I had never heard of this guy, never saw him, was not related to him.
