Webmaster news :
Alrighty, good evening! I hope you all had a lovely Halloween!
First off, I'd like to say I really would like to see some of the under appreciated fan-artists on this site get a bit more credit. Some while they might not be the next Goldenwolfen etc. are begging artists and they need those more experienced artists should offer then help, and encourage them. I was going to feature a few, but there are quite a few out there so I'd like a fair chance for everyone. So go out there and give those budding artist's some love
Also a few people had requested some tutorials so I took the time to create a few of the Balto characters. Currently the only two I have are Steele and Jenna but I will continue to do these when I have some spare time.
Finally, I have a bit more Balto "Official" Fun Facts for you all.
The real Balto was named after the Sámi explorer Samuel Balto.
Brendan Fraser was originally hired to provide the voice of Steele, the evil dog. He did record his part but his voice-over was subsequently discarded and the role went to Jim Cummings
Steele is named after North-West Mounted Police Superintendent Samuel B. Steele; one of the famous contingent of Mounted Police charged with keeping order during the chaos of the 1896-1899 Klondike Gold Rush.
The real Balto was a Siberian Husky, but was made part wolf to make Balto a more interesting character.
Balto's two-tone gray fur colors and pattern were based on Tramp from Lady and The Tramp
After this movie's release, 'Nikki' became one of the most popular sled dog names.
Have a great day guys!
