No there is no mate box, that was a joke Steet pulled for april fools. We will never have that again, not after all the issues that came with it. But as for what it was, wolfhero is basically right, but people used it more for themselves in fursona form or w/e.

It's a place where you can talk about mates and express love between your own character and another. But, it was just an April Fools joke that steet pulled and we'll never have it again.
