insane yet loved :
now i know that we are all familiar to the "original" Balto movie..but how many are their for real? i have done some looking around and found that there is about 8 different versions of Balto up for sale in different parts of the world..now my question is where can you get these "special" versions of Balto's movie and how much are they going to be if they even work?

You two have misunderstood the question "insane yet loved" posed.
To PROPERLY answer the question, there are only three movies. However, they have various packaged versions based upon the "region" they were released in. "Regions" are sections of the world where the package may vary by extra content, exterior and interior packaging, etc. And even release date.
For example..."Region 1" is the U.S. and Canada. "Region 2" is Europe. Etc.
As to what Charming Jenna and wolfeyes said, yes...Balto 1 is LOOSELY based upon the real 1925 Nome Serum Run (though it is a very fictionalized version of those events, and the individuals involved...only two of which, in the cartoon, are real - Balto and the doctor. Though the cartoon Balto is a fictionalized version...the REAL Balto was not half-wolf, or brownish-gray. Nor was he a stray.). Balto 2 is completely fictional and rather far-fetched (in terms of the Native Alaskan mysticism). Balto 3 is fictional. However, IT is based in very historically-accurate concepts and situations common to Alaska, and Nome, in the mid to late 1920s.

8 versions? I don't know how you can find so many. For now, there are only three "different" versions of Balto 1 : the VHS version, the US DVD (region 1) and the non-US DVD (other regions). I can't think of any other. (except for some repackagings, but these have the exact same content) |
