I love the Lion King and I saw the play three weeks ago, it was awesome however there were new parts. Here they are. Sorry if I spoil for you who have not seen it yet want to:

1.Rafiki is a girl, it said so in the play.
2.There are new songs.
3.When the I just can't wait to be king song was on,Simba and Nala are missing and Zazu goes 'This does not happen in the cartoon.'
4.They are extra scenes. For example: Adult Simba jumps over a river and Timon falls in it. Then hangs on a branch and falls and battles crocs.
5.Scar hits on Nala.
6.A cheetah hunts a giraffe.
Even though the play was different, I still loved it and I would love to see it again.

There goes the theory of Scar being Nala's father... not that I believed it anyway.

1. scar asking nala to be his queen proves why he didn't kill her when she was a cub. 2. i heard that the director thought that the production would be more interesting if they made rafiki a woman. 3. the producers needed to make it more of a musical so put extra songs in it, most of them from the cd rhytham of the pridelands. 4. the extra scenes were mainly to answer questions fans had asked (e.g. why did nala leave?) other info is on the 2nd disc of the lion king dvd (also the whole "this does not happen in the cartoon" bit was put in for humor)
