I was watching Hercules and noticed at one point Hercules is holding a lion skin that is Scar. Or at least it looks like Scar.

I'm not surprised they used Scar as a model. By the way, that's the Nemean Lion (just in case anyone wants to know). In the original myths, slaying it was the first of twelve labors Hercules had to accomplish. He was unable to kill it with any weapon, since nothing but the lion's own claws could pierce its hide. So he strangled it, then used its claws to skin it and wore the hide as armor, keeping him well-protected througout his other eleven tasks.

I think that's because Hercules was design by the same person that design Scar (and maybe a reference to the Nemanean lion or to the chimaera).
