Was Scar dead?

Was Scar really dead in the first movie? I mean he probaly could a took those hyena's right? I know in the second movie it says he is dead but i don't think he died from the hynea's. I think the hyena's might hurt him but not killed him. Well it never said he died within the first four years after the The Lion King was realsed.

yep... thats what i thought because i don't think the hyena's could of killed him.. maybe injured him badly but not kill. i think he died when simba exiled them.

I think that the Hyenas killed him because he was REALLY outnumbered, BUT if he did survive, I think he was hurt too badly and died of an infection, scavengers, or starved

hyenas are pretty ferocious ^^;; the reason why their necks are so large is because they have a lot of muscle connecting to their head, their bite can crush bones. Lions and hyenas may not be evenly matched one on one, but there is no way a single lion could survive being attacked by a group. My take on his death scene was that the hyenas attacked him and then the lot of them immediately caught fire and then they all died o.o;; so unless he survived being partially attacked by a large group of hyenas and a bunch of nasty burns... I bet if he lived he is horribly mutilated ._.;;

Actually, all those hyena's against one lion, it's very likely thathe died. Even if the amount of hyenas was much less, they could still take out a lion.

i think since he was outnumbered he was killed...if not there is still a raging fire around him and he couldnt have escaped with such severe wounds...

i think it is a possibility that scar didn't die because scar could have talked his way out of it with the hyenas and if scar was weak he wouldn't have been able to have a fight with simba at the end of TLK, scar would have died sooner then he did.

I'm pretty sure he died. Hyenas often attack lion cubs in the wild and during a famine or dry season (as in the movie) they could attack an adult.

I personally think they all burned, but scar escaped. He told Zira who would be to follow in his "paw prints" and then died on the spot because of the serious damage done to him (i.e. hyena attack, fire etc.)

i think the hyenas did kill scar because when all the hyenas pouced on him a shadow appears on the wall and u could see all the hyenas ripping scar 2 pieces.

I don't think a single lion could take down a mader of a 50 hyaenas. But prehaps he managed to escape or the fire killed the hyaenas before they could attack him and their boddies protected him from the flames...something like that.

I think he died because he was out numbered and there was a big fire around them so if the hyena's didn't kill him there was no way out of the fire.

Right, and I think they made that scene so we would know that he died, but they couldnt show to much cause it would be to much blood, and children are looking.
