Disney official scenario:

The young lion name Simba has difficulties finding his place in the “circle of life” and to follow the path of his royal father, Mufasa, after that he was killed by his traitorous uncle Scar. Scar manages to persuade Simba that he is the murderer of his father and tell him to flee the lion domain and never come back. Simba, afraid and ashamed, exile himself and befriend with Timon and Pumba, an eccentric mongoose and his companion a kind hearted warthog. Samba adapt to there way of life named “hakuna matata” (whithout trouble). It consists in eating small insects and to take life as it comes while is becoming an adult.

When is childhood friend, Nala, arrive, she persuades him to come back to the Lions kingdom to take the throne that belong to him. The wise shaman baboon, Rafiki, convince Simba that his father spirit is in him and that he must accept his responsibility. When he comes back, he manages to vanquish Scar and his hyena army and become king.
