it has to do with both the materials available for creating the toys, such as paints and fabrics, and lighting in the film. Also has a lot to do with artistic representation, people percieve colors differently. It's not usually a big deal. |

I have the lion king 2 activity play and when I look at Kovu's fur it's looks pretty the same as the movie

i see what you mean....the kovu toys and other make him look like a Scar clone, maybe Disney relise the erro and turn his fur color down alittle to not make him a scar clone...don't know thats my guess |

That makes sense, purpletwist. In the early production stages, Kovu was Scar's son, thus inheriting Scar's orange-ish fur color. Of course, they changed that for the movie, but I'll betcha the people who made the merchandise were working off of the original concept art rather than the movie itself. Thus, Kovu's fur is the wrong color.
