Well, as it is said at least two times in 'The Lion King II: Simba's Pride' Scar isn't Kovu's father, but choses him to become king after him. So, I'm going to introduce some of the canonical (or better to say, semi-canonical) characters who can be Kovu's father. Here is the first

Tojo

This is a cub who is presented as one of the cubs born during Mufasa's reign, and is presented as a friend of Simba in a comic that can be seen in this site:

Tojo has a colour slightly simmilar to Kovu's colour, and has a hairtuft bigger than Simba's. Besides, he has blue eyes, simmilar to the eyes of Vitani. Most people say that Vitani is Scar's daughter, but others say that she is from the same litter than Kovu, and, considering the similarities between the eyes of Tojo and Vitani, Tojo can be Vitani's father, and so can be Kovu's father as well.

Chumvi

This is a cub who is presented in the book series called 'The Lion King: Six New Adventures' published shortly after the first movie. The books can be seen here:

Chumvi is the cub with the headtuft. Probably, Chumvi was born during Mufasa's reign. Chumvi, like we can see, is dark-brown, has a color somewhat similar to Kovu's colour, and also has a hairtuft, so he could be Kovu's father as well.

Malka

This is a cub who is presented in a comic as being from another pride, and also a friend of Simba. The comic can be seen here:

This cub almost has no similaritie with Kovu, besides the head tuft, who looks like the one that Kovu has. This is the only evidence suggesting that he is Kovu's father.

Above, are the three main canonical (or semi-canonical) candidates for Kovu's father. But all of them raise the same problem. They were all Simba's friends. And, if they were Simba's friends, why would they have a cub with Zira, that was Simba's enemy?

So, there is some discussion about if Kovu's father is anyone of those three presented above. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the article. It's the first that I make. I know it isn't too good, but I'm a beginner.

Humm, I think Kovu's father is meant to be a mystery. That doesn't mean, however, that none of this characters isn't kovu's fathers.

I think Kovu was found by Zira.His parents are unknown. (probably died in the outlands) Zira and Scar made him believe that they're his parents,cause Kovu was just a few weeks old,but later (after Zira and her family got exiled) Nuka told Kovu that Scar is nt his real father.So Zira had to explain to him that Scar had adopted him.That is also a reason of Zira not liking Nuka.

I think Tojo is Kovu's father. He could have betrayed Simba causing Mufasa to exile him. Years later he found Zira. She Already had Nuka. Then Vitani was born so was Kovu. Scar was in a rage. He chasedTojo. Tojo ran into a jungle where he met Rafiki. Rafiki told him to go back and fight. He did. But in stead of Scar in a rage he found him dead with Zira weeping over him. "Zira. I'm still here." Said Tojo. Later they had Monopoply and Scrabble who ran away. Soon after that Tojo died. And that is my theroy. ~ RenamonWolf1~

I think it was nether of them. My theory is that Zira mated with a rouge lion. So thats how Kovu was made.

I read a story that someone who mae Lion King 2 wrote There is a lion named Uvoko that is his dad Scar killed Uvoko and Kovu was born from a lioness of the pridelands Zira killed her before she got exild and in lion king Nuka says; Kovu Kovu Kovu Scar wasn't even his father he just took him in.. I have read in several sources that Scar was MEANT to be Kovu's father, until Disney realized it would then be promoting incest. So they made some hasty references to Scar not being his father and then didn't change the obviously Scar-based character design at all. Good catch, guys. Nice work.
