Has anyone else noticed this? That when Kovu walks away after being nuzzled by Kiara he bumps into Rafiki. He then is confused of who Rafiki is, but he has already met Rafiki when he rescued Kiara from the fire. Has he just forgetton or is this a mistake in the movie?

He had only seen Rafiki briefly, and that was when he had first came to 'rescue' Kiara. there weren't any words exchanged between them, Rafiki just yelled at him. So when Kovu sees him again in the scene you mention, of course he wouldn't really know who it was. (Besides, meeting a crazy baboon/mandrill when you're emotionally strained would be rather of a shock. )
