I'm utterly confused. :/ Is Uncle Max Timon's Uncle or is he his GREAT Uncle? 

The reason I'm confused is that I've noticed that Timon's mother calls him 'Uncle' and also that I've read several fanfics that refer to Max as Timon's Great Uncle. (and several that refer to him as just 'Uncle' as well.)  Also, I've done searches on it, and when I read some of the articles that I've found, I find that they are very inconsistent, with some calling him Uncle and some with Great Uncle. Can anyone help me?

Well, sometimes my Grandma calls my Grandpa "Daddy" or "Dad"
I suppose that Uncle Max is Timon's father's brother, considering that Ma looks NOTHING like him. XD
I would go by the movies, by saying that Uncle Max, is just Timon's uncle.
